Powder Blue Gourami (Trichogaster lalius)

These striking fish offer a solid wash of iridescent sky-blue that catches the light beautifully in a planted aquarium. They are a captive-bred color variant of the classic Dwarf Gourami, keeping that same iconic oval shape and peaceful temperament. While they are generally calm, males can be a bit territorial toward their own kind, so they do best as a single centerpiece or in a very large, well-decorated tank with plenty of visual breaks. They are labryinth fish, meaning you might see them occasionally gulping air at the surface to help them breathe.
