Panchax Killi

The Panchax Killi is a sharp-eyed surface hunter that brings a unique profile to the upper levels of your aquarium. These fish are naturally found across Southeast Asia, where they patrol the water's edge searching for small insects. They possess a distinct silvery spot on the top of their heads, often called a third eye, which helps them detect predators from above while they focus on their next meal. Unlike some of their more fragile killi cousins, the Aplocheilus panchax is quite hardy and adapts well to a variety of water parameters as long as the tank is stable.

• Needs a tight-fitting lid since these fish are notorious jumpers when startled.
• Appreciates floating plants like Frogbit to provide cover and mimic their natural habitat.
• Best kept with peaceful tank mates that are too large to fit in their surprisingly wide mouths.
