Glass Bloodfin Tetra (Prionobrama filigera)

These South American tetras offer a unique visual contrast that really stands out against a dark substrate or a heavily planted background. While most of their body is nearly transparent, their tail fin flashes a deep, striking red that catches the light as they school together. They are active swimmers that prefer the upper levels of the tank and generally stay much hardier than other transparent species. Keeping them in a group of six or more is the best way to see their natural shoaling behavior and keep their stress levels low.
