Exclamation Point Rasbora (Boraras urophthalmoides)

These tiny jewels are perfect for those keeping nano tanks or high-end aquascapes where scale is everything. They earned their name from the distinct black spot and dash on the tail base that mimics punctuation, set against a shimmering copper-orange lateral line. You will rarely see these fish exceed an inch, making them one of the smallest vertebrates available to hobbyists. Because of their size, they feel most secure in large groups of a dozen or more, where they will spend their time darting through fine-leaved plants and mosses. If you keep them in soft, slightly acidic water with a dark substrate, their colors will truly pop.
