Buenos Aires (BA) Tetra

Buenos Aires Tetras are striking freshwater fish native to South America. They are commonly found in slow-moving rivers and streams with dense vegetation.

These fish typically reach a maximum size of around 2.5-3" inches. They are characterized by their slender bodies, translucent fins, and a distinctive black stripe that runs from their nose to their tail. Their coloration can vary from a silvery-blue to a pinkish-red, depending on their diet and water conditions.

Buenos Aires Tetras are omnivores and have a varied diet. They enjoy consuming flake food, live food (like brine shrimp or bloodworms), and frozen food. A balanced diet will help maintain their vibrant colors and overall health.

These fish are peaceful and social creatures that prefer to live in groups of at least six. They are known for their lively and energetic personalities and can be quite entertaining to watch as they dart around the aquarium. They are compatible with other peaceful fish species and should not be kept with aggressive or territorial fish.

The ideal aquarium environment for Buenos Aires Tetras is a well-planted tank with a moderate water flow and a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5. The tank should be at least 20 gallons to provide ample swimming space for a group of these fish.
