Albino Heckelli
Albino Heckelli
The Albino Geophagus Heckelli, a stunning and rare variant of the Geophagus Heckelli species, is a freshwater fish native to South America. They inhabit slow-moving rivers and streams with sandy or muddy substrates, often found in areas with abundant plant life.
These fish are characterized by their striking all-white coloration, which is a result of a genetic mutation. They have a robust body shape with a large head and a prominent hump on their back. Albino Geophagus Heckkelli can reach a maximum size of around 12 inches (30 cm) in captivity.
Their diet consists primarily of invertebrates, such as worms, crustaceans, and insects. In the aquarium, they can be fed a variety of high-quality commercial fish foods. Albino Geophagus Heckelli are peaceful fish that do well in community aquariums with other compatible species. However, they can be territorial, especially during breeding season.
